Seed Share

seed packets organized in file drawers

In late winter and throughout the growing season, we offer a place for the community to find or give away vegetable and flower seeds.

Find the Seed Share in the front room of the library. We've repurposed a small card catalog file, which allows us to organize seeds in an easy and findable way.

  • Adding seeds: If not in a clearly marked envelope, place your seeds in one of the envelopes provided. Fill out label with type of seed, and other pertinent info. Place in appropriate drawer. We can accept commercial seeds and seeds you’ve saved from your garden. If you’re bringing saved seeds, we prefer organically grown and open pollinated varieties.
  • Taking seeds: You are welcome to take any seeds you need, and use the blank envelopes provided, if needed.

We are grateful for the guidance and expertise of local farmer and see saver Hope Requardt, who keeps our Seed Share in good order.
